GROUP EXERCISE

The YMCA August group exercise schedule is now out. Whether you’re new to our group exercise classes or if you are experienced, the Dorchester County Family YMCA has something for you. Since the weather has gotten warmer, classes will be held on the stage, in the gym, outside, or in our indoor cycling room!   Please check out the Class Descriptions to see which class is right for you!

In addition, we have added a separate schedule just for indoor cycling. To make sure you do have a bike, please reserve a bike at least one week prior to your class.

Water Group Exercise Classes

AFYAP (Arthritis Foundation YMCA Aquatic Program)

A YMCA aquatics program designed for arthritis sufferers and those recovering from surgery or injuries. Certified instructors lead a series of head to toe water exercises for all ages. The water temperature is set at 82 degrees.

Bay Watch Hopefuls

Group led by audiotape, this fun and social group uses a variety of water exercises to enhance flexibility, stretching, and toning. Ability to swim is not required.

Water Aerobics

A challenging, heart pumping, low impact routine performed in both shallow and deep water. A fun class that uses bar floats of all different resistance levels to strengthen your muscles. Ability to swim is not required. All fitness levels welcome!

Aqua Circuit

This challenging class will take you through 12 different heart pumping and muscle toning stations in both deep and shallow water.  A flotation belt can be worn at all times.  Ability to swim not required.

Water Kickboxing

A combination of Kicks and Punches are performed to get the blood flowing and the heart pumping.  All fitness levels welcome.
